On December 9, 2024, we had the privilege of co-hosting the workshop “Real Estate Assets & the New Law 5142/2024: Opportunities & Challenges” alongside Alpha Real Estate Services. The event, which took place in Amalia Hotel Athens, brought together professionals and thought leaders from legal, real estate, and government sectors to discuss the latest developments and challenges in the real estate market under the new legislative framework.

Key Highlights from the Event:

In the first session “Opportunities and Challenges in Real Estate Transactions”, Georgios Rekas, Supervising Senior Attorney moderated the discussion among Lena Kontogeorgou, President, Athens Notaries Association, Dimitris Ntasos, Engineer, Head of Maturity Department, Asset Management & Development Division, Alpha Real Estate Services and Manos Kranidis, Board Member, Panhellenic Federation of Property Owners (POMIDA). Key topics included the practical application of Article 16 of the Law, the evolving role of notaries and engineers and practical solutions provided by the new law.

Our Fireside Chat showcased an exceptional dialogue on groundbreaking legislative initiatives and the digital transformation of real estate, featuring the esteemed participation of the Deputy Minister of Digital Governance, Konstantinos Kyranakis, alongside our Head of Legal, Olga Eftychidou.

In the final session “Completion of Cadastre – Practical Issues and Prospects”, moderated by Neoklis Neokleous, Head of our Real Estate Department, Fay Paschalidou, Engineer at Alpha Real Estate Services, and Lefteris Potamianos, President of the Real Estate Association of Athens, discussed how completing the national land registration system by 2025 will simplify property transactions. Key insights included an online platform and a registry for certified engineers managing geometric changes, and also AI incorporation to streamline processes through the legal review of contracts.
