Sioufas and Associates’s contribution in legal issue European Intellectual Property Review at Thomson Reuters publications
We are pleased to announce the contribution of Sioufas and Associates in the legal issue European Intellectual Property Review, Thomson Reuters, where Marios Sioufas wrote about “Flagship Stores: Store Design and Trade Marks” (2023) 45 E.I.P.R. 276–281. Marios states that under EU Trade Mark regulation, designs are among the signs that may be registered as trade marks. He is reviewing the EU Trade Mark Regulation, and by mentioning case law examples, he describes and analyzes how the number of EU Trade Mark applications for store designs has slightly increased over the past few years as retailers and shop owners strive to provide their customers with a better and more memorable shopping experience and he concludes how challenging it is to establish a distinctive character in relation to a three-dimensional mark than to a world or figurative mark.
